Awning Window
The Renewal by Andersen awning window is composed of a single sash that is hinged at the top of the frame and pivots out and slightly upward from the bottom. Similar to a casement window the awning window also opens to the exterior. Awning windows are not recommended in areas where an open sash could cause an obstruction.
The Renewal by Andersen awning window style offers many advantages:
- Window can be left partially open during inclement weather for ventilation.
- Dual weatherstripping on the interior and exterior of the sash provides a weather tight seal when sash is closed and locked.
- Made with Fibrex material with a virtually maintenance free capstock that gives the appearance of a painted wood window finish but without the hassle of maintaining a wood window.
- Recommended for those hard to reach windows located over a counter, cabinet, sink area, or other obstructed area - turning a handle is an easier motion than lifting or sliding a window sash.
- Contemporary in style with sleek radius surfaces on the sash and frame.
- Choose the look that complements your home, our contemporary design can be traditionalized with the use of a grille pattern - we have many options to choose from.
- Insect screen located on the inside of the window frame.
